ODMA Awards 2026 Are Open for Nominations! Voting Opens in June.
Nominations are now open, with nominations welcomed from suppliers and practices alike in all categories. Optical practices will then be the ones to decide our winners through a vote in the lead up to O-SHOW26 where the winners will be announced!
From today until the end of May, ODMA will be accepting nominations for all deserving submissions on offer from O-SHOW26 exhibitors. They are invited to submit information on their latest and greatest in their relevant categories, including all the new products that they will display at O-SHOW26. Practices will then vote on what they are loving the most. All supplier nominations will be compiled and open for voting from June 2026. Winners will be announced on Monday, 17th August, at O-SHOW26 at the MCEC, Melbourne.
ODMA CEO Amanda Trotman shared, "This year, we've ensured there are some different categories to the previous awards program, ones that fit well with O-SHOW’s high level of new frames and lens product releases. We have also focused some categories with more of a fashion and design focus, given our exciting (runway) plans for O-SHOW this year, plus included the important areas of sunglasses and sports eyewear.”
O-SHOW26 will feature a few daily (runway) shows, showcasing product from the event, on display in an additional exciting way at the centre of the trade floor.
Amanda went on to say, “We have again included the category of Top Customer Service Team within a supplier organisation, as this is such an important category and it was fantastic to see so many practices voting and celebrating their collaboration with suppliers last year.”
The ODMA Awards 2026 lineup of categories is designed to celebrate excellence and innovation across the optical industry and here is a first look at the categories:
Best Fashion Frame Design
The frame that has stood out recently for its visual impact, fashion expression, originality, storytelling and/or its cultural influence.
Sunglass Design of the Year
The sunglass frame that has shone from a design and aesthetics perspective, taking into consideration overall visual appeal and style, shape and fit innovation, colour choice, quality and protection and frame detail.
Best Sport Frame Innovation
The sport frame that measurably improves performance, enhances comfort, durability and usability with innovation that doesn't compromise safety or compliance.
Best Sports Lens Technology
The sport lens with contrast enhancement, photochromic lenses that adapt to varying light conditions and with polarisation to reduce reflections and minimise eye fatigue.
Fashion Tint Lens of the Year
The fashion tint lens of this year that provides a blend of aesthetic impact, wearability and style whilst maintaining functionality and protection.
Sun Performance Lens Innovation
Nominate a lens designed for comfortable vision behind the wheel, especially when driving in difficult light conditions, as well as comfortable vision outside the car and lenses which are polarised and include hydrophobic coatings to repel water/smudges, 100% UV protection, or specific colours to enhance performance.
Top Supplier Customer Service Team
The Customer Service Team who consistently deliver outstanding service, create strong customer relationships and deliver measurable business impact.
Eligibility in these categories relate to products/services that have been launched/delivered in Australia since ODMAFair25. All suppliers exhibiting at O-SHOW26 are invited to nominate.
